LG Polls: RSIEC urges parties to play according to guidelines

Ahead of political party primaries stating Tuesday across the 23 local government areas of Rivers State the State Independent Electoral Commission RSEIC has urged all political parties taking part in the elections to play according idelines released by RISEC on the conduct of the elections.
The Director of Public Affairs/Civil Education Mrs Sarah Menney-Amgbare who made the call via a statement issue in Port Harcourt urged the parties to be civil in conducting their primaries for the April, 17 Local Government Election in the state.
She said that political parties had to commence the conduct of party primaries to elect the representatives at the concillorship and Chairman level ahead of the April,17, local government election.
The Director said that the primaries which kicked off on Monday, Jan. 25, will last for six days.
According to the release, eighteen (Jn18) political parties had indicated interest to participate in the April, 17, local government council election.
