Town union officials pledge to link government, grassroots citizens

Newly-elected president general of Mbagen Development Association (MDA), Mr. Solomon Shimsenenge, has pledged to run an open-door leadership devoid of acrimony during his three-year mandate.
He made the pledge shortly after his emergence, alongside other executive committee members, at the election held on Saturday at Abwa Mbagen, headquarters of Nyamatsor development area of Benue of state. He promised to carry every one along and solicited the cooperation of relevant stakeholders to enable him and his exco succeed.
The PG said his leadership would ensure government patronage by way of pursuance of social amenities towards improvement of Mbagen and Nyamatsor Council at large.
He expressed regrets for the underdevelopment within the place and stressed the need for his tenure to focus on efforts to enhance quality lives and accelerated development across communities.
Speaking during the inauguration of the new executive, Barrister Justin Gbagiir, a member of the board of trustees of MDA charged the president general and his team to work strictly within the confines of rules and regulations of the association.
Gbagiir, also current chairman Benue chapter of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA expressed satisfaction with the conduct of elections saying it was free and fair.
0thers elected included vice president general, Mr Christopher Yisa, Mr. Innocent Saror Awua, secretary general, Mr. Moses Age, the assistant secretary general, while Mr. Atser Awen was returned as auditor.
