Ighalo pens emotional farewell to Manchester United after one year loan
Former Nigerian international, Odion Ighalo’s initial six month loan spell at Manchester United which was later extended by another six months finally came to an end on Sunday 31 January.
Ighalo joined the Premier League club from Chinese Super League, CSL side, Shanghai Shenhua. He is leaving the club and has thus penned an emotional farewell to the Old Trafford side, via his verified twitter handle.
“It’s so hard to see this dream come to an end. But I give God the glory for helping me fulfil this lifelong dream of putting on a Manchester United shirt as a player and represent this great club. It was indeed an honor I will forever cherish and be grateful for”, Ighalo tweeted.
Ighalo was a last day transfer sensation when he moved to Manchester United on this day a year ago.
He further tweeted.
“To the manager, I say thank you for trusting and believing in me when many did not”
“To my amazing teammates, I will miss you guys. It was always fun and a time I look forward to training and spending time wthl all of you. And I pray we win the league and FA Cup this year.
“To the best fans in the world (Manchester United fans) we have missed you. But we hear your voices cheering us from afar. We can’t wait to have you back on the stands.
“I’m still and would remain a MANCHESTER UNITED FAN forever.
