Erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP), Olisa Metuh, has likened his legal travails with the Buhari-led government to the proverbial Wrestling match with the devil.
Speaking on Wednesday in Awka at the occasion of his homecoming organized by the leadership of Anambra State PDP, Barr Metuh noted: “I’ve wrestled with the demon, I’ve wrestled with the devil. The Almighty God has saved me. For that, I’ve dedicated my life to serve him.”
“It’s just like you being in your house and armed robber came to your house, took all your earnings, beat you up, violate your wife, deal with your children and you can’t do anything because he is an armed robber, because he has the gun.” he furthered.
Striking a note of warning to his fellow politicians, Olisa said: “When we have power, we should know how to use it because there is God in heaven and at the end of the day all of us will die.”
Recall that Olisa Metuh, who stayed almost a year in the Kuje Correctional Service Center, secured his freedom on December 16 2020 when the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division nullified his seven-year jail sentence.
Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja had on February 25, 2020, found Metu guilty of money laundering and sentenced him to seven years in jail.
Earlier on, the State PDP Chairman, Ndubuisi Nwobu, in his Welcome Address noted that Metuh was prosecuted on trumped-up charges and thanked God for saving his life through the Court of Appeal.
Nwobu maintained that Metuh suffered incarceration just because of his desire for a better Nigeria.
Dignitaries that graced the occasion include Hon. Chris Azubogu, Chief Valentine Ozigbo, Chief Ugochukwu Okeke, Dr Obiorah Okonkwo, PDP party executives, etc.
