I don’t know anything about Futuro of E/Guinea — Eguma
Rivers United coach Stanley Eguma has admitted he knows very little about their CAF Confederation Cup opponents Futuro Kings of Equatorial Guinea.
Eguma’s side will face minnows Futuro Kings, who were founded just three years ago, in the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup, following Monday’s draws and are expected to advance to the next round at the expense of the debutants.
The Rivers Pride of Rivers gaffer admits he possesses very little facts about their opponents but disclosed he has made efforts to get video clips of the Equato-Guineans which will enable him conduct a ‘tactical analysis’ of his opponents before their first tie on the weekend on 27 to 29 November away from home.
“You know the draws were made on Monday, and as soon as we got the draws, we swung into action to see if we can get information about the team – get videos (of their matches),” Eguma who is called Zagalo said.
He added: “But someone has promised to get me their videos and some kind of tactical analysis of the team.
“So, in a very short time, I will be armed with such information.
“So, that’s all we know about the team.”
Despite being the overwhelming favourites to advance to the next round of the competition, Eguma said he won’t underrate their less-fancied opponents, adding that his side will prepare adequately to ensure victory.
“Well, it’s football, I don’t underrate any opponent, especially when it comes to African football,” the former Enyimba assistant coach said.
“It all depends on the approach to the game and the caliber of opponents that you have”.
