Group berates Adeyemi over comment on Ikpeazu
Yolamchi Ukaga, Aba
Senator Smart Adeyemi, senator, representing Kogi West senatorial zone in the Senate, has drawn the ire of Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL), for allegedly insulting Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state, on the floor of the national assembly.
Senator Adeyemi, representing Kogi West senatorial zone in the senate, called Ikpeazu, a drunk on the floor of the senate.
COSEYL, in a statement signed by Goodluck Egwu Ibem, its president general and Comrade Kanice Igwe, secretary general, stated that such spiteful comment from Smart Adeyemi, was an insult to the entire Igbo nation. “We will not take such insult lying down. Adeyemi has bitten more than he can chew.”
They observed that such comment coming from a man, who is supposed to be distinguished in character, behaviour is unfortunate and wondered whether the entire Kogi West senatorial zone doesn’t have a man, who is mentally fit to represent them in the senate, if not a misfit, like Adeyemi?
The coalition called on the people of Kogi West senatorial district to immediately begin the recall process of Senator Smart Adeyemi, because he has lost his sanity, which makes him totally unfit to remain in the red chamber, which is the highest law-making body in the country.
They equally called on the senate leadership, headed by the Senator Ahmed Lawan, to, as a matter of urgency, suspend Senator Adeyemi from the senate, pending his recall for bringing the highly respected Nigerian senate to disrepute, before Nigerians and the international community.
