Give your best at all times in whatever you do — Abia Warriors coach
Imama Amapakabo, technical adviser of Abia Warriors, says Adeleke Adekunle’s invitation to the Super Eagles ahead the 2021 AFCON qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin Republic is a clear manifestation of the maxim that one needs to put one’s ultimate best in everything one does because one doesn’t know may be watching him.
Amapakabo, a Nigeria junior international goalkeeper and former U23 Olympic Eagles coach, spoke against the back drop of Adekunle’s invitation to the Super Eagles by Gernot Rohr.
Adekule, a defender on the pay roll of Abia Warriors, was handed a late call up as a replacement for Kenneth Omeruo who has now been affected by the travel restriction adopted by some European nations.
Similarly, Sadiq Umar has been replaced by Enyimba’s Anayo Iwuala.
“It is a big booster”, the 2015/2016 NPFL winning coach with Enugu Rangers retorts over Adekunle’s Super Eagles call up.
“Personally, I’m happy when, a player of my team gets a call up to the national team.
“It is a reward of hard work. Whatever you are doing, give in all your best because someone somewhere is watching and taking note of it”.
Amapakabo has taken Abia Warriors through 11 games unbeaten run despite a poor start to the 2020/2021 season.
