Excitement in Ekwulobia as APGA Chieftain, Barr. Ezewuzie redeems election pledge to community members

It was all joy in Okpo village, Ekwulobia community in Aguata LGA, Anambra State as an APGA Chieftain, Barr. Chuks Ezewuzie donated cows and monetary gift in fulfilment of his election promise to the people of his area.

Ezewuzie had before the November 6th election that elected Prof. Charles Soludo promised his kindred and people of Okpo village in Ekwulobia that a cow and cash reward awaits them if they vote to victory, the candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA.

However, barely two weeks after the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, announced the APGA candidate winner of the poll conducted in the area and the state in general, Barr. Ezewuzie returned in fulfilment of the promise and put smiles on the faces of people who had supported him all along.

The two cows gifted to the people by Barr. Ezewuzie

A cow and a fifty thousand naira (N50, 000) reward was gifted to his Umunna Umuezenwa kindred and Okpo village, respectively, bringing total of the gifted items to 2 cows and a hundred thousand naira.

In their separate remarks, the people expressed joy at the gift from their son and prayed that the Almighty God reward him for remembering his people after the election. They also reiterated their readiness to support the incoming governor at ensuring that he enjoys a colourful tenure as Anambra governor.

Speaking at the event, Chairman Umuezenwa kindred in Okpo Village, Michael Ezeagu noted that the support for APGA went beyond the Okpo village of Ekwulobia and stressed that the party was able to garner maximum votes and support due to the belief they had in the candidacy of the APGA flag bearer.

Mr. Ezeagu thanked Barr. Ezewuzie for a promise made and fulfilled and prayed for God’s blessings upon him, his household and the entire APGA family in the state.

Additionally, he pointed out that the election had solidified APGA as the true picture of the Igbo race, noting that APGA government would do well if they are supported in piloting the affairs of the state.

Also speaking, APGA ward 1 Chairman in Okpo village, Ekwulobia, Christopher Ezeigwe said “I’m happy because Ezewuzie fulfilled the promise he made to the people. I thank God for keeping him alive to fulfill the promise he made to APGA faithful and the Okpo People’s Assembly.”

He expressed joy that the government under Governor Willie Obiano administration had turned around persons with disabilities from being viewed as beggars to decisive members of the society and urged the incoming governor to uphold the legacies of the Willie Obiano government on the disability group and ensure that the foundations laid by the outgoing governor are solidified.

Lending his voice, Mr. Francis Ezewuzie called on the new governor to repay the faith reposed on him by the people of the town by providing quality road networks for the people of the area including link roads to the Ekwulobia General hospital.

Following the gifts, Barr. Ezekwuonna Anthony who is a Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Liaison said people of the area has entered into covenant with APGA for future elections and stated that Soludo’s election would help to expand the development of the state.

Presenting the gifts, Barr. Chuks Ezewuzie emphasized that the cow and cash gifts was in fulfilment of the promise he made to the people of the area prior to the election.

“The entire village of Okpo constitute a special group within our ward. I promised that if the ward deliver APGA, would receive a cow and an envelop and today we are fulfilling this promise.

“We are here to say thank the people. We thanked them because they stood by us in our famous 21/21 victory in 2017 and this period they stood by us again.”

Ezewuzie, a Special Adviser to the Governor on Disability Matters commended the grand slam victory of Soludo, a former Central Bank Governor and urged him to continue to toe the path of development which the outgoing governor had entrenched in the state.

He lauded Governor Willie Obiano for providing solid road network in the area which according to him was a nightmare to the people of the area before its construction.
