By Joe Akwarandu, Umuahia
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Abia state chapter, has suspended indefinitely the Transition Committee Chairman of Ukwa West Local Government Area, Chief Sylvanus Nwaji, for alleged anti-party activities. Also suspended is the state’s Commissioner in the Board of Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ASOPADEC), Barrister Henry Chilaka.
The decision was taken during the stakeholders’ meeting of the PDP in Ukwa West LGA following report presented by the party chairman, Elder Dike Ogbonna.
He alleged that Chief S.U Nwaji and Barrister Henry Chilaka had illegally summoned a party meeting without his knowledge, a development he said, was against the PDP constitution.
Citing the party’s constitution, Ogbonna presented a summon he received for a meeting sent to him and other members of the party by Henry Goodluck Chilaka as directed by Chief Sylvanus Nwaji.
