Floods And Erosion: Please Help Us, We Can’t Do It Alone, Uzodinma Cries To UN
The Governor of Imo state has appealed to the United Nations to come help rescue IMO state from the menace of floods and erosions in the state. He claimed the state alone doesn’t have the capacity to tackle the problem alone.
This statement and appeal were made when the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed, visited the Nigeria Governor’s Forum Secretariat at Abuja as part of her tour to some countries in West Africa.
Governor argued that Imo state cant tackle the menace because of the dwindling of state resources as a result of the Covid 19 outbreak. He pleaded with the United Nations to respond to the request with a sense of urgency.
Responding, Mohammed regretted the devastating effect of ecological problems in Imo State in particular, and the country, in general, promised to use her capacity to alleviate the suffering of the Nigerian populace.
