Ex Eaglet joins Enyimba’s Dimgba at Stellenbosch
Former Nigeria U17 Golden Eaglets star, Ibraheem Jabaar has joined former Enyimba and U23 Eagles winger, Stanley Dimgba at South Africa Premier Soccer League side, Stellenbosch FC who have announced the signing of the talented Nigerian youngster who was part of Nigeria’s squad to the FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil to strengthen the Steve Barker’s squad at the Winelands club.
Stellenbosch Football Club is a South African football club established in 2016 following the relocation of Vasco da Gama to Stellenbosch, Western Cape.
It is the first DStv Premiership team to be based in Stellenbosch, and the club plays home games at Coetzenburg Stadium and Idas Valley Stadium.
The club known as Stellies confirmed that the 18-year-old Jabaar has completed a deal from Nationwide League One side, Ijebu United without revealing the length of the contract.
Jabaar was a member of the Golden Eaglets squad to the 2019 U17 World Cup, playing four matches as a substitute during the tournament in Brazil.
The 18-year-old starred at the 2019 Africa U17 Cup of Nations, where he made five appearances including three as starter and found the net against Tanzania and Uganda.
The young star joins countryman in former Enyimba attacker Stanley Dimgba at the club, who was signed last year.
“The club is excited to announce the signing of this young Nigerian international who puts pen to paper with Stellenbosch FC. Welcome Ibraheem Jabaar,” Stellies confirmed the signing on the club’s official Twitter account.
Stellenbosch are placed 11th on the 16-club league with 16 more games to the end of the season.
