Enyimba won’t underrate Rahimo in Aba — Osho
By Sab Osuji
Fatai Osho, technical adviser of Enyimba says the People’s Elephant will approach Sunday’s CAF Champions League preliminary round return leg match against Rahimo of Burkina Faso as if the first leg tie has not been played, Orient Sports reports.
The Nigerian side braved all odds to earn an inspiring 1-0 win in the first leg last Sunday in Ougadougou, handing them a huge psychological advantage going into the reverse fixture in Aba on December 6.
But the young tactician believes it’s yet done and dusted since in his opinion, it’s not yet over until its really over.
“It’s good we won the first leg match in Burkina Faso. That gives the players confidence going into the return leg match. But I must confess, in football, it can never be over until it is really over”, Osho said to Orient Sports.
“Mathematically, we have an advantage. But we cannot afford to hang on that and get carried away or relax, no. We have to work extra hard because, honestly speaking, Rahimo is a good side.
“We cannot afford to be complacent, or underrate them, no. Instead, we will approach the game as if the first leg has not been decided. Football is a funny game, any moment you pull off the pedal, you get punished.
“So, we are prepared to fight, Rahimo will come here smoking, he who is down, they say, fears no fall. It will be a difficult game, no doubt, but with our players’ determination and hard work, I believe victory will be ours”, Osho, a former Remo Stars and Prime FC gaffer said.
Enyimba will need a draw of whatever margin to go through to the first round of the 2020/2021 CAF Champions League where they are expected to meet the winner between Al Hilal of Sudan and Vipers of Gabon in the first-round game.
