Enugu correctional facility staff lauded for Covid-19 protocol compliance

The management and officials of the Nigeria Correctional facilities, Enugu have been commended for strict compliance to COVID-19 safety protocols.
The assistant controller-general (ACG) of Nigeria Correctional Service, Mrs Clementina Okereke, made the commendation while addressing NCoS staff after a two-day tour of correctional facilities within Enugu state on Tuesday.
Okereke, who is also coordinating NCoS Zone G headquarters, Benin, also applauded the staff for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness within the facilities visited.
“I will also like to commend you for your dedication and commitment to duty. `However, I will charge you to always be at alert at all times and avoid any act that will breach security within and outside the custodial centres,” she said.
The zonal coordinator also charged the state headquarters staff to engage in robust intelligence gathering so as to timely nip to the board any security breach.
The highpoints of the visit were tour to Enugu, Nsukka and Oji River custodial centres as well as the K9 unit, arms squad base, poultry and piggery unit and Ibite-Olo Farm Centre in Ezeagu local government area.
The visit is part of the ACG’s routine inspection of custodial formations within Zone G.
