Education inspector lauds supervisors over Exam success
By Nosa Akenzua,
The success of the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination, (BECE) in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State has been attributed to the decentralisation of the Custodian Points in the State.
The Chief Inspector of Education in charge of the Local Government, Mrs Juliet Sorokwu, affirmed this yesterday while playing host to journalists in her office in Akwuku Igbo, the headquarters of the council.
She said that the two Custodian Points were located at Asaba and Akwuku Igbo for easy collection and distribution of the examination materials across the centres in the locality.
She commended the examination supervisors who were always punctual at their various collection points to facilitate the collection and distribution of the examination materials at the appropriate time.
Mrs Sorokwu used the opportunity to appeal to the State government to renovate her office complex which, she said, was no longer conducive for optimal performance of staff in the office, adding that the office complex was not connected to the public electricity supply, thereby slowing down work, particularly when there were official documents to be typewritten and printed out for official uses.
