Don’t play for Nigeria or England – Neuer tells Jamal Musiala
By Sab Osuji
Bayern Munich and Germany goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, has told Jamal Musiala in no unclear language not to commit his international goalkeeping career to Nigeria Super Eagles or Three Lions of England.
The 17-year-old Bayern Munich shot-stopper currently represents England at the U20s but has now been warned to steer clear of England and Nigeria for his senior international career. He had previously represented Germany at U16s level before the switch to England for the U20s.
Instead, Neuer would want Jamal to wear the German Machines gloves, where he believes, the youngster would excellent.
“I would recommend talking to him and trying to get him to play for Germany”, Neuer says.
“He’s a very talented and good player who we need in our (Germany) team and who can play at the highest level”, Neuer added.
” He’s an exceptional talent, who’s highly valued by Germany and Bayern”, Joachim Low, Germany coach added.
“I think he knows, one way or another, that I want to nominate him.
” The ball is in his court, it’s his decision”, Low said.
