Delta Force resurrects in Ogwash Uku

Orient Sports has exclusively scooped that Delta Force football club of Asaba has boun ed back and would be part of 2020/2021 Nigeria National League, NNL.

The club, which participated in the NPFL in the 2019 season but was sold to Kwara United will now take the NNL position of the Harmony Boys in the coming season. At the moment, the club has tacitly commenced preparation for the 2020/2021 season.

Checks reveal that Delta Force has chosen the Ogwash Uku stadium as their home venue in the coming season following the non-approval of Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba by the League Management Company, LMC.

“We’ve secured a camp close there in Ogwash Uku. We will commence full preparation this weekend, hopefully, and Ogwash Uku will be our home ground”, an official from the Delta state FA said to Orient Sports.
It was gathered that a new head has been engaged following the departure of Mbwas Mangut, the erstwhile gaffer who is now Assistant Coach at Rangers, under Salisu Yusuf.

Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, was earlier billed to host the Super Eagles versus Leone Stars of Sierra Leone in one of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers but the venue had to be moved to Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin when the Asaba edifice was seen not to be in shape after it was used as Covid-19 isolation centre.
