Police arrest 2 armed robbery suspects for killing okada man

Police in Ogun state have arrested two armed robbery suspects for allegedly shooting a motorcycle rider, otherwise known as Okada man, during an operation at Olambe area of Akute in Ifo local government area of the state.
The suspects: Lukmon Olanrewaju, 27, and Shola Alabi, 28, were arrested on Sunday, May 2, 2021.
Their arrest followed a distress call received by the DPO Ajuwon Divisional Headquarters, SP Andrew Akinseye, at about 5pm of the said date.
The police public relations officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said in a statement in Abeokuta that as the suspects were robbing in the area, they shot one commercial motorcyclist identified as Anas Usman and also snatched his motorcycle.
Oyeyemi said that upon the distress call the DPO led his men to the scene and with collaboration of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, SO-SAFE, two amongst the robbers were subsequently apprehended.
Exhibits recovered from the suspects included one cut to size locally made gun, two live cartridges and the snatched motorcycle.
The victim was quickly taken to the hospital for treatment, while effort to nab the remaining member of the gang was on top gear and the matter referred to the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation.
