Kidnapped Ogun cleric’s body found inside his new car

The Chief Imam of Atiba community in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun state, Shieikh Mushafau Bakare, has been found dead in his newly acquired Toyota Jeep on Thursday after being kidnapped by unknown persons in area.

Reports had it that the cleric, who was in his 60s, was abducted on Wednesday by faceless people and whisked away to an unknown destination.

After thorough search for him by his family, mosque members and the police, his lifeless body was found in his Toyota Highlander SUV around Ikangba area by police men attach to Obalende divisional headquarters, Ijebu-Ode.

Members of his family had continued to call his phone number until the police reported to them that his body had been found in his vehicle at Ikanga, Odogbolu local government area of the state.

The state police public relations officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, did not pick his call neither did he respond to text messages in our quest for police reaction about the incident.

The remains of the cleric were laid to rest on Thursday in the community.
