By Phil Okose, Onitsha.
The Ogbaru Relief Market in Ogbaru local government area of Anambra state, yesterday installed disinfectant machine in the market to help prevent the spread of the second wave of COVID-19 in their market.
Mountimg the machine at the entrance gates of the market, the market’s president general, Chief Ndubuisi Ochiogu, disclosed that their aim of mounting the machine was to eradicate COVID-19 pandemic from the traders and customers as well as to adhere to the instructions given by the state government to combat second wave of COVID-19.
Ochiogu noted that his administration was committed to the well-being of the traders and mandated them to always pass through the machine while entering and coming out from the market.
He strictly warned them to always comply with other COVID–19 rules as he would not condone any defaults.
Speaking, the secretary general of the market, Chief Bucknor Agu, described the installation of the machine as an effort in the right direction.
He said that traders strived to procure the machine at the cost of
N7,000,000 for the sake of lives of traders and their customers.
“What matters is human lives not the cost of the machine. After all,
N7,000,000 is not commensurate to a single soul lost. We are happy and the traders are happy because everything pertaining to COVID-19 precautionary measure is completed in the Ogbaru Relief Market.”
