Eid-el-Kabir: Ogun police felicitates with Muslims, promises adequate security

The Ogun state police command boss, Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, has assured residents of a violence and crime-free celebration of Eid-el-Kabir, saying that the command had deployed police men to every nook and cranny of the state for security of lives and property.
The CP also said that he had directed all area commanders and divisional police officers to ensure surveillance at various praying grounds, event or recreation centres to forestall breakdown of law and order.
According to a press statement by the police public relations officer, DSP, Abimbola Oyeyemi, at the weekend, the police would also be patrolling all major highways to ensure free movements of goods and people in and out of the state.
Ajogun noted that men of the special units including SWAT, PMF, Tactical Response and intelligence units, as well as Anti Kidnapped and Anti Cultism sections had also been deployed at every length and breadth of the state to nip crimes in their buds during and after the Sallah celebration
He there urged the people of the state to put their mind at rest and enjoy their festival as the command have put in place a robust security arrangement of a large sale and elaborated tactical policemen to make sure that everywhere in the state is secured.
The CP said “In view of the forthcoming Eid el Kabir celebration, the Ogun State Police Command wishes to assure residents of the state that the command has put in place a robust security arrangement in order to ensure hitch free Sallah celebration.”
“Men of Special units such as SWAT, PMF, Tactical Response and Intelligence units, as well as Anti Kidnapping and Anti Cultism sections have also been deployed to nip in the bud any violent crime that may want to rear its ugly head.”
“Area Commanders and DPOs have also been directed to embark on 24hrs surveillance around various praying grounds as well as event/recreation centers across the State. In the same vein, all the major highways across the State are being properly patrolled to ensure free movement of people into and out of the state.” he added
Ajogun, while felicitating with Muslim faithful and the good people of the state enjoined them to reflect on the reasons for the Sallah celebration and be good ambassadors of Islam by ensuring peace at all times.
He also appealed to members of the public to alert the police whenever/wherever they noticed any strange/suspicious faces, gathering or movement in their domain in order to assist the security agencies to perform their duties to the optimal level, as security is everybody’s business.
