As Muslims all over the world celebrate Eid-El-kabir, a member of Board of Trustees, (BOT) of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Anambra State, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka, has called for peace amongst Nigerians.
The call was made when he hosted about 300 Muslims in his Oba residence.
Playing host to his guests, Ezeonwuka called on the over 300 Muslim faithful in his Oba, Idemili South residence to love one another.
He said, “the celebration is called, ‘Baban Sallah, in the Muslim world’, I have to host my Muslim brothers. This is love which was displayed by the Biblical Ibrahim when God asked him to use his only begotten son as sacrifice to God. As he was about to slaughter Isaac, God intervened and sent a ram which was in replacement of Isaac”
“It shows that you have to love God and man, so we call the celebration Baban Sallah“. When you kill ram, you share it (love) into three places, one for the family that brought the ram, another part for the Muslim and the third for non-Muslims”.
“So we have to show love to each and every one of us irrespective of one’s religious, political, ethnic and whatever inclination”, he emphasized.
Earlier, the Chief Iman of Oba, Alfa Mohammed Tukur, in his sermon prayed God to continue to guard and guide Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka as he worked for the interests of both Muslims and non Muslims.
He also prayed for long life upon Ezeonwuka so that he would continue to host the Muslims in the area.”We thanked God for Rommy Ezeonwuka, we pray God to keep this our father, he should stay and continue to host us”, he prayed.
