Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS), a Calabar-based religious organisation, says it was planning to build a world class university to foster its educational vision for the common man. Spokesman for the organisation, Patriarch Christ Shepherd Edet Archibong has said.
Patriarch Archibong made this known in Calabar, Monday, during a chat with journalists to mark this year’s weeklong birthday anniversary celebration of the organisation’ spiritual leader, His Holiness, Olumba Olumba Obu, which the spokesman christened ‘The Divine Manifestation.’
“The Universal Education Fellowship has been directed by the Holy Father, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, to put in motion the process of establishing a BCS’s university.
“Some expansion has been carried out on the Brotherhood Model School with additional classrooms and laboratories. Students and staff population have increased,” the spokesman said.
According to him, the organisation would embark on a visit to Afokang Correctional Centre on Thursday, November 19, to pray for inmates and share materials like food stuff and clothing to make life a bit meaningful to them.
Archibong enumerated other activities marked for the anniversary to include breakfast show on StarCross TV, divine royal banquet, general fasting, spiritual choruses competition and love feast. The weeklong event, he said, would climax with the actual birthday celebration and thanksgiving service on Thursday, November 20.
While inviting BCS members and the general public to be part of the celebration, the spokesman said: “Brotherhood of the Cross and Star is neither a church nor a religion nor a family enterprise, but the kingdom of God on earth, created by God, where the children of God coexist in love and righteousness, devoid of barriers of race, religion, social status or gender.”
