Anambra NYSC staff cautioned against undermining agency’s credibility
The director, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), South East Area Office, Alhaji Ahmed Wada Ikaka, has warned staff members of the corps to refrain from acts capable of causing embarrassment to the scheme.
Ikaka stated this at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Umuawulu/Mbaukwu at the opening of the one-day training of the zonal and local government inspectors with the theme, “Public Service Ethics and Integrity Building.”
He stressed the need for them to embrace the virtues of integrity, patriotism, teamwork and commitment which, according to him, remained the core values of the National Youth Service Corps.
He said, “You must restrain from engaging in acts capable of causing embarrassment to the noble scheme. You owe it as a duty to protect the image of the organisation.
“You must continue to embrace the virtues of integrity, patriotism, teamwork and commitment, which are the core values of the National Youth Service Corps.
The Anambra state coordinator, Mr Kehinde Aremu, had earlier explained that observance of public service ethics and integrity building produced efficiency and progress in organisations.
The resource persons drawn from the South East Area Office included Dr Agbor Ndoma (deputy director), Mrs Ben Ushie Ifeoma (assistant director) and Mr Eze Christopher (assistant director).
The participants included assistant directors/heads of branches in the state, zonal and local government inspectors.
