Anambra APC regrets registration delay, warns against false date rumour
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra state has expressed regrets over delay in commencement of field registration of new members and revalidation of willing old membership.
The party in a statement issued by the publicity secretary, Okelo Madukaife, said the delay was occasioned by amendments to the registration schedules and content by the interim national leadership of the party and the South East zonal leadership.
It said the earlier timetable, which provided that materials should arrive the polling units and registration to take off in all 4,907 polling units on Thursday, having reached the Wards yesterday had been overtaken by events.
The party warned members against spread of timetables lifted from the social media platforms, an act that is capable of misleading stakeholders.
The statement read, “Our great chapter regrets the delay in commencement of field registration, of new members and Revalidation of willing old membership, occasioned by amendments to the registration schedules and content by the Interim National Leadership of the party and the South East Zonal Leadership.
“Based on this, the earlier timetable which provides that materials should arrive the polling units and registration take off in all 4,907 Polling Units today, having reached the Wards yesterday has been overtaken by events.
“An amended timetable will be issued shortly, reflective of the new contents, and party executives at all levels in the chapter, our prospective members and the general public are requested to take note.
“We deeply regret the inconveniences arising from these unavoidable changes and assure that there will be enough provision in the new schedule to make up for the time loss.
“Again, based on information at our disposal, there might be slight variations in timetable for various states.
“Consequently, members are advised not to indiscriminately throw in timetables seen on Social Media into our party official platforms without clearance, as this may drastically mislead our esteemed stakeholders, who are geared up to create a monumental success in this exercise and go ahead to win the November 6, 2021 governorship elections.
“We will keep all and sundry duly informed on Anambra-specific developments in the registration process.”
