Nigeria’s most decorated goalkeeper, Dele Aiyenugba, says he’s ultimate ambition is to win this year’s Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, title, Orient Sports reports.
Aiyenugba, 37, would be crowned NPFL title winner for the fifth time should his dream come true.
He had previously lifted the trophy four times with Enyimba in 2002,2003, 2005 and 2007 while in the colours of Nigeria’s most successful club, Enyimba.
Aiyenugba also won the FA Cup in 2005 with Enyimba, Nigeria Super Cup in 2003, two CAF Champions League silverware’s in 2003 and 2004 with Enyimba and two CAF Super Cup in 2004 and 2005 with Enyimba, bringing to nine, his career trophies.
Apparently recalling his good continental old days, Aiyenugba reckons that he wants to get another shot at the continental stage with Kwara United’s triumph in thec2020/2021 domestic top flight campaign.
Presently, Aiyenugba is manning the sticks for Kwara United following a move from Hapoel Afula of Israel.
“I am here to make history with Kwara United and with the help of my wonderful teammates, we will definitely go places this season”, starts Aiyenugba.
“Although the day is still young to talk about winning the title, but one must have a target so as to succeed and for that reason, lifting the NPFL title is what I want this season”.
