Abiodun decorates Soyinka as Amotekun ‘Super Marshall’

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State on Thursday inaugurated the Southwest Security Outfit code named Amotekun to combat crimes and criminality in the state. This was just as the governor also decorated Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka as the Super Marshall of Amotekun Corps in the state
Abiodun, while inaugurating the corps at the Arcade Ground of the State Secretariat in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the state capital, also commissioned patrol vehicles and motor cycles for the take-off of the security network in the state. He urged the Amotekun corps to live up to their tasks in securing the lives and properties of the people in the state and ensure that the state is free criminality including kidnapping, banditry among others.
Recalled that the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Shuaib Salisu, had announced the Former Commissioner of Police, David Ajibola Akinremi, as the Commandant of the Security outfit in the state.
Salisu, who stated this when he featured in a live television programme in Abeokuta, the state capital, said that the Amotekun corps would strengthen the existing security architecture to combat crimes and criminality in the state. He added that the state government had purchased 100 patrol vehicles, 200 motorcycles, and communication gadgets to enhance its operation across the 20 local government areas of the state.
