5,296 police officers deployed for hitch-free Easter celebration in Oyo

Oyo state police command says it has deployed 5,296 police officers to strategic locations across the state as part of the bid to ensure adequate protection of lives and property before, during and after the Easter celebration.
The police commissioner in the state, CP Ngozi Onadeko who made the disclosure, however urged Christian faithful participating in the celebration to adhere to the Covid-19 protocols.
According to a statement issued by the State Police Public Relation Officer, CSP Olugbenga Fadeyi effective plans have also been emplaced to police all entry and exit points and other parts of the State through aggressive stop and search, effective visibility patrol, and intelligence-led raid of black spots.
“Places of worship, recreation centres, financial institutions and other public facilities will be adequately protected.”
Members of the public are enjoined to cooperate with the Police by giving out credible information, while the Police personnel have been charged to be courteous and civil to members of the public while discharging their duties.
