30 club officials participate in BERACKIAH Football Coaching Clinic

About 30 football club officials took part in the just concluded BERACKIAH Football Coaching Clinic held at the Best Western Meloch Hotels in AwKa, Anambra State, Orient Sports reports.
The training and intellectual exercise which was sponsored by Aspire FC Adazi Ani is part of the grassroots sports development aimed at fishing out and grooming talents as well as world champions from the state.
Orient Sports confirms that it is part of the good initiative of organisers of the Anambra Super 8 tournament, as coaches of the 27 clubs that registered as well as some others were the core participant of the coaching clinic.
Speaking to Sports Writers, Monday Odigie, a CAF instructor and representative of the technical department of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), explained that the Coaching clinic is well accepted by the apex football administration in the world and would forever be encouraged for the development of round leather game.
“The NFF has a technical department that oversees this kind of exercise to ensure that the materials, activities and coaching seminars delivered are in line with the status of CAF, so am here as a representative.
“This is the only thing that can improve football and develop the game in our society, it is a pity that there is not enough opportunity for this kind of program for us to start getting it right. We are glad that Anambra has taken a bold step to make this a reality, as such we are giving them all the needed support.
Odigie, equally lauded the participants for showing great interest and enthusiasm in the whole process, adding that there is a new methodology to football coaching and the only thing that will bring it back home, is education as well as a continued quality programme of activities.
“The participants have already had a new orientation towards their job, I equally passed through this kind of system and was privileged to have attended lots of approved FIFA coaching courses.
“Nigeria highly endowed with talents that can compete anywhere in the world, all we need is to embrace and invest in football education,” he opined.
On his part, former Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Adegboye Onigbinde noted that the purpose of the seminar is to take a first step towards continuous development of football in the country and we are sure that the coaches must have garnered lots of experience during the exercise.
He noted that soccer development is now a priority and is happy that the coaches conducted themselves very well by conforming to the rules of the training.
“They were patient, eager to learn, determined and focused. We have been to Ijebu ode, Enugu, Asaba and Anambra, so I thank the BERACKIAH of Italy for partnering with the NFF to develop football in Nigeria,” FIFA/CAF technical instructor said.
The Brand Manager of Aspire Football club, Ezeasor Chidimma Madonna, while speaking to Orient Sports, revealed that the project is a fulfilment of promise to Anambra state, especially those that has the interest of soccer at heart.
She went further to explain that the aim is to train and build world class coaches.
“This is one step to fulfilling that promise, thirty grassroot club coaches from different local governments have already benefitted. They have been empowered with basics of coaching, this means better improvement, performance and huge advantage to all the clubs as well as their players,” Ezeasor said.
One the participants and Coach of Solace Spiders FC Nibo, Janison Chukwuagoziem expressed satisfaction with the who process and lauded the organisers and sponsor of the programme.
“I have been to a coaching course before but this is one in a million that will help us to grow the game and it is a noble experience for all of us.
“We have been clamouring for this kind of opportunity for a long time but Aspire FC has once again given us hope to rise to the occasion, I thank the instructors and the sponsor and wished that football education will be sustained in country, especially at the grassroots level.
Orient Sports understands that the two-day seminar also included practical experience on the game which was also held at the surface pitch of Tansi international College, Okpuno. They equally received certificate of participation at the end of the whole exercise.
