It was a fun filled evening in Onitsha, yesterday, as Mr. Chijioke Chukwukere popularly known as CJ Ozugo, the winner of the 2019 Hi Life festival, organised by the life lager beer brand of the Nigerian Breweries, to promote highlife music in South East, Nigeria, thrilled his fans at Pizza gardens, Onitsha, where he dished out sensational high-life numbers.

The event, which was tagged “ Hi life on fire”, was graced by hundreds of music lovers in Anambra State, Orient Daily reports.

In an exclusive chat with Orient Daily, the highlife king, commended the efforts of performing musicians in the South East and called for more investors to drive the industry.

“Honestly, I think we have got what it takes to be a major force in the Entertainment Market, but we need more investors to actually propel our entertainers to reach their full potentials because Entertainment Business is Money Business” he said.

Speaking on the effects of the outrage of coronavirus to the entertainment industry, Ozugo lamented the ban on social gatherings, during the lock down, but noted that the ban aided the commencement of on-line music concerts and festivals, especially in this part of the world.

In his words: “Without any doubt,2020 has been one hell of a year and the impact of COVID-19 on entertainment cannot be overemphasized”

“Entertainment thrives when people are allowed to gather, but that was taken away as a result of the pandemic which was a big hit, to entertainment.

“But like they say, ‘Necessity Is the mother of all inventions’. In that sense, not being able to entertain a live audience has caused most of us to result to holding online concerts which I think was the first of its kind in our region in the recent past; so I believe that’s a huge step up that also happened as a result of Covid-19″

The Life lager beer Ambassador, advised his fans never to give up on their dreams, as quitters according to him, never win.

“If you give up, na you fvck Up” he advised.
